Putting it all back together; many would call it art, but more accurately it involves skill, science, lots of patience and a lifetime of experience.
A new pin block is manufactured and shaped to the plate. Afterward a pin pattern is marked and special drills are used for tuning stability.
The old and newly manufactured pinblocks side by side. Easy to see why the old pin block needed replacement.
Installing the new pin block, fit securely to the case. Although shown on this page, as you can see, the actual progression comes after the new soundboard has been installed.
